Brides Maid Dresses
Choosing brides maid dresses can be one of the bride’s more difficult decisions. Not only are you choosing the style and color you want for your wedding, you’re also trying to please your friends with a dress they will feel comfortable wearing and also be able to afford. Unless you are buying their dresses, be conscious of cost. Besides the dress, they will have to pay for hair, makeup, shoes and travel. The ultimate decision is the bride's, but your friends will appreciate having a say in the style.
Dressing a group of brides maids can be challenging. Everyone has a different shape and size from petite to plus size. Try to pick a dress that everyone at least moderately agrees on. Consider picking a theme. You could allow your brides maids to choose from different styles in the same color and designer line. Many lines offer a two piece dress or mix and match gowns with different cuts and necklines.
The length is also a very important decision. If you're having an outdoor wedding, tea length may be the best to avoid getting their gowns dirty or snagged. Tea length dresses are fine for an afternoon church wedding, but full length gowns are appropriate for a formal or evening wedding. Start your search early and online. Shopping online makes it easier for you and your brides maids. You can choose the gowns, the brides maids can view them and the decision can be made all saving you time and preventing travel for the out of town bridesmaids. Try to make your decision at least 5-6 months before the wedding so your bridal party has enough time to order their dresses and have any alterations done. Now you won't have to worry about collecting money, making the order and distributing dresses!
