Christmas Wedding Ideas
Christmas is a magical time of year, so it just makes sense to share these Christmas wedding ideas with you! I love the anticipation of the Christmas season. It’s exciting to have something to look forward to, so why not a wedding?!?
Good reasons to have a Christmas wedding: 1. Most halls and churches are already decorated so you can save a lot on your budget. 2. Many “out of town” family members may already be planning a visit for the holidays. 3. It is the “off season” for weddings, so you should be able to get the venue you want. 4. A Christmas wedding will be different and memorable to you and your guests.
Possible problems with a Christmas wedding: 1. The weather may not cooperate with your plans, especially if you live in a very cold climate. 2. Even though family members may come in for the holidays, their holiday plans may not allow them the time for a Christmas wedding.
These disadvantages can easily be avoided with good planning and creativity.

Decoration Ideas
If you are a member of the church where you plan to wed, ask if you can choose the colors or theme for the decorations for Christmas. This will give you some control of the look you would like for your wedding. You could make a monetary contribution for the decorating and still save money. Cut fresh evergreen boughs just before the wedding for decorations in window sills or front door décor. Tie bows of your chosen color and you will also enjoy the fresh aroma! Pine cones are a cheap decoration that can be used in numerous ways, also. Lots of white or colored Christmas lights can add great decoration for little money. Wrap them in tulle for a soft touch. See winter weddings for more great ideas.
Christmas Centerpieces
For the head table, a decorative gingerbread house or church would be adorable. For the guest tables you could have plates of gingerbread bride and groom cookies. Clear bowls or containers of Christmas ball ornaments would also make lovely centerpieces. Bare tree branches painted white with clear crystals or snowflakes hanging from the limbs or strings of white lights wrapped around branches would be lovely. Scented pillar candles with evergreen boughs and pine cones would be a cozy centerpiece.
Favor Ideas
There are numerous choices for Christmas wedding favors. A Christmas ornament is a great idea; this is something that’s almost sure to be used by your guests. You can display them on a Christmas tree in the reception hall, and each guest takes one as they leave. Another useful item is a Christmas cookie cutter. These could be displayed the same way. These ideas serve double duty as they will also help with your decorations! A pair of fuzzy socks, gloves or earmuffs given as favors in muslin bags will warm your guests on chilly winter nights.
Christmas Wedding Cakes
Your wedding cake will most likely be decorated to go with your reception décor. Flowers, evergreens, berries, snowflakes, birds, presents, fruit and nuts, gingerbread men…these are just some of the ideas you can use to decorate your wedding cake for a Christmas theme. The cake itself could be red velvet or another Christmas flavor of your choice. Serve hot chocolate along with your other beverages for a warm winter drink. These are just a few Christmas wedding ideas. I'm sure you can think of many more. Share your ideas with other readers here.
