Wedding Hairstyles

Wedding hairstyles can compliment your face shape just as your wedding dress can compliment your body type. The first step is to identify your face shape. Most women fit into four basic facial shapes: heart, round, oval, or square.

Find Your Wedding Hairstyle in Four Easy Steps!

Heart - The heart shaped face girl has the most versatile shape of all, meaning that many hairstyles will look good on her. Her optimal look, though, is a head of sexy, tousled waves that softens the angles of her face and brings out her unique bone structure. Jennifer Love Hewitt, Michelle Pfeiffer and Reese Witherspoon have heart shaped faces.

Round - Round faces tend to be wider at the cheeks, with softer shaping along the jaw line and forehead. Straight hair is the most flattering for round faced girls. Kate Bosworth, Cameron Diaz, and Catherine Zeta-Jones, all of whom have round-shaped faces, favor long sleek hairdos.

Oval - A pumped up ponytail with lots of volume and sophistication is a popular style for oval shaped faces. This style highlights the cheekbones. If you like to experiment with makeup, it goes really well with dramatic smoky eyes. Stars with oval shaped faces like Kate Hudson, Jessica Alba and Kim Kardashian all wear this hairstyle often, probably because it’s so easy to achieve.

Square - The square faced girl has a wide hairline and an angular jaw. The goal with a square face is to soften your hairline with styles that emphasize layers and your hair's natural texture. A volumized, relaxed, “undone” look is a great style for a square face. It’s almost a bed head look, and it’s a favorite of Hollywood leading ladies like Demi Moore and Sandra Bullock.

Talk with your hairstylist if you’re not sure. He or she will be able to tell you which face shape you have and help you decide the right hairstyle for you.
