Hershey Kiss Roses

You will need:

• Double-sided tape or glue dots
• Hershey kisses
• Colored cellophane or tulle
• 18-guage florist wire (cut in half or make long-stemmed rosebuds if you prefer)
• Green florist tape
• Silk rose leaves or leaf shaped “thank you” card
• Ribbon
• Scissors
• Wire cutters

1. Using tape or glue dot, stick two foil-wrapped Hershey's Kisses together, bottom to bottom.

2. Cut a four-inch square of cellophane or tulle. Place the tip of one of the kisses in the center of the square, then wrap around both kisses, gathering the corners together around the tip of the other kiss. Wrap the gathered corners together as tightly as you can without tearing the florist tape.

3. Insert a florist wire into the gathered cellophane until it meets the tip of the Hershey's Kiss.

4. Tape the "rosebud" onto the wire with the florist tape. Continue taping down the length of the wire until it is completely covered.

5. Tape the silk rose leaves onto the stem, or tie leaf shaped “thank you” card on with a ribbon bow. A cute note could say: Love and Kisses from the Mr. and Mrs.! As an alternative you could use one Hershey’s Kiss and one Hershey’s Hug and say: Hugs and Kisses from the Mr. and Mrs.!

Homemade Soap

Melt and Pour soap is a soap base that you melt and pour into molds. You simply melt the base mix and add extra ingredients to make luxurious homemade soaps. Melt and Pour Soap can be bought from all good craft supply stores.

Put chunks of soap in a large microwave bowl. Cover the bowl with cling wrap to prevent moisture loss. Melt according to directions.

Scent: Add any fragrant oils or essential oils just before pouring to prevent evaporation.

Color: There are different types of colors and dyes. Choose one that is suitable for your project. Mica and soap making dyes will give the best result. Add 1/8 teaspoon to 1/4 teaspoon of mica with the melting base and stir it in really well. Spray any "mica bubbles" that form on the top with rubbing alcohol.

Mold: You can use anything from ice cube trays to muffin tins to mold the soap or you can buy molds of your choice. Once your soap is melted, pour into molds (only half way) and let set for 1 minute. Add your item of choice. Then fill the rest of your mold with the melted soap pouring over your item. Check craft and cake supply stores for small wedding related items that can be added to soap. Allow it to dry for 2-3 days to harden. Wrap in colored cellophane, brown paper, burlap or fabric and tie with ribbon or raffia. Make cute stickers on your computer, wrap soap in colored paper and seal with sticker. Get creative with your wraps!

Cinnamon Applesauce Ornaments

You will need:

•Cinnamon
•Apple Sauce
•Craft Glue
•Cookie Cutters •Ribbon
•Toothpick

Mix 1 cup of apple sauce and 1 cup of cinnamon and 1 teaspoon of craft glue for every batch.

Mix all the ingredients until you have a firm but moist dough. If dough is too wet, add more cinnamon until dough is workable. If you like you can substitute small amounts of nutmeg or ground cloves for some of the cinnamon.

Roll out your dough to no thinner than 1/4 inch thickness (too thin and they will be weak and break easily). Cut shapes with cookie cutters or a knife.

With a toothpick, poke a hole at the top of each ornament that is large enough for a ribbon to be pulled through. Place ornaments on a cooling rack or tray to dry completely. Depending on how large your ornaments are, drying could take two or three days; it's best not to touch your ornaments during this time.

Once your ornaments are dry, you can easily remove any rough edges with fine sandpaper or emery board. Sand your ornaments gently; it doesn't take much to remove the edges.

Tie a ribbon through the hole and, if you like, paint your names and wedding date on them or add a little glitter. The scent is wonderful! These work well for a Christmas, fall or winter theme as well as a rustic country theme. They also make very cheap wedding favors!

Make refrigerator magnets out of wedding theme items. Or leave off the magnet and print your names and wedding date on the backs. They will be beautiful Christmas ornaments and very cheap wedding favors. More beach wedding favor ideas here!

Paint a red poinsettia on a green or white ornament and your names and wedding date on the other side. Hang them on a tree at the reception hall and each guest takes one on their way home.

Make “caramel apple kits” in cellophane bags with an apple, a stick and a handful of caramels. Or give fancy premade caramel apples dipped in nuts and drizzled with chocolate. These would be great for fall and make very cheap wedding favors as well.

Buy flats of spring flowers... pansies, Johnny jump ups, marigolds etc. Separate each section, wrap with tulle, tie with ribbon and place around candles in the center of each table. Each couple or person then takes a flower home with them to enjoy all summer long! Very cheap wedding favors for a spring wedding and can be used as a centerpiece too!
